Brohuset in Ishøj is a modern civic and healthcare centre where transformation and new construction merge into an open and welcoming environment.

The project combines existing raw materials with new, warm elements, creating a cohesive whole characterised by daylight, community, and high material quality.

Wood plays a central role in the interior design, adding a natural warmth that supports the building’s function as a gathering place for people and activities. The interior materials have been carefully selected with a focus on aesthetics, durability, and a low environmental impact.

Acoustic Design by Frøslev has supplied both slatted panels and perforated panels in peeled pine, forming an integrated part of the interior. The panels contribute to comfortable acoustics in the many shared spaces, while adding warmth and a rhythmic visual expression to the overall design.

The result is a contemporary and functional building where materials and acoustic solutions work together to create optimal conditions for everyday use, meetings, and community life.
