DLF’s new headquarters in Smørum is a modern and future-proofed working environment where research, innovation, and office functions are brought together under one roof. The building is designed with a strong focus on collaboration, flexibility, and seamless connections between functions.

The architecture is inspired by the surrounding landscape and naturally integrates the building into the terrain through staggered levels and a central atrium that allows daylight to penetrate deep into the interior. Nature is also a recurring theme throughout the design, where materials and finishes have been carefully selected to create a calm, bright, and welcoming atmosphere.

As part of the overall experience, stripe panels in peeled pine have been installed with a beige acoustic fabric backing. The combination of the light, natural wood grain and the warm tone of the acoustic fabric creates a soft Scandinavian expression, evoking associations with nature’s own materials — like a bright field of grain moving in the wind. At the same time, the panels contribute to a comfortable acoustic environment and support the many open and flexible working areas.

The result is a bright and sensory headquarters where materials, acoustics, and architecture interact harmoniously to create strong settings for collaboration, wellbeing, and innovation — closely connected to DLF’s DNA, with nature at its core.
