A Dynamic Space for Sports and Community

In 2019, the new facility at Helsingør Stadium opened its doors, bringing together various sports activities in one unified location by connecting existing sports venues in the area. Helsingør Stadium accommodates both elite and grassroots sports, with a spectator capacity of around 4,000.

The materials chosen for the stadium’s facilities are rustic and well-suited to a high-energy environment with heavy foot traffic. The cores and bar areas are clad in dark-stained peeled pine plywood, creating a striking contrast. Most of the panels are perforated and installed with underlying acoustic insulation to ensure a pleasant atmosphere in this public space. The remaining panels are solid, offering a beautiful contrast to the other materials.

Peeled pine is a distinctive, rustic veneer. The production method, where the veneer is peeled directly from the log, creates a varied grain pattern with summer and winter wood, resulting in a rich visual texture when stained.
