Pakhus Langelinie, Copenhagen
Lundgaard & Tranberg Architects Behind Pakhuset on Langelinie
Pakhuset on Langelinie is a beautiful office building with many workspaces, designed by Lundgaard & Tranberg Architects. Although constructed between 2012 and 2015, the architecture clearly reflects a contemporary interpretation of the historic warehouses in Copenhagen’s harbor.
The atrium spans all seven floors, offering a stunning vertical view through the building. LVL spruce slats adorn the ceilings and balcony edges. The light-colored spruce slats contrast beautifully with the black steel used for stairs and railings, as well as the black walls.
Each floor features perforated acoustic panels made of peeled pine with a black stain, which highlights the wood grain and adds visual depth to the panels. Stairs, elevators, restrooms, service rooms, and technical shafts are grouped into two cores, also clad in the black perforated acoustic panels. Some service rooms feature perforated panels with oak veneer on both walls and ceilings to achieve optimal acoustics.
