The new library and cultural center serves as a link to the school and a gathering point for the entire area.
The architectural language is fresh and modern, while the materials are familiar and robust. The entire Tingbjerg development is built using yellow bricks, which is why the facade also consists of brick baguettes—except for the large glass facade facing the street. The open facade allows passersby to observe the activities inside the building, while guests inside enjoy a beautiful view outward.
The large multipurpose hall
At the entrance level, a multipurpose hall opens up to the glass facade. Here, the walls and ceilings are clad with wooden soli panels in a simple pattern, created by alternating perforated panels. Behind the panels lies an acoustic fabric and a cavity with insulation, which together ensure excellent acoustics.
Inside, wood is the dominant material, creating a calm and cohesive spatial experience—making the building feel like one large room.
